An Edmonds homeowner wanted a kitchen that was warm, functional, and built around the way they actually live, and J Hanby LLC delivered it from the first sketch to the final fixture.
This complete kitchen renovation began with a design plan. Together with the home owner, we designed a layout for a more efficient use of space, and then ordered cabinets that were customized to fit the kitchen perfectly. The kitchen was then completely dismantled, right down to the studs, and the new kitchen built with features that would serve the home efficiently behind and before the walls.
To make room for a full-height pantry and a clean cabinet and panel above the refrigerator, we rebuilt the soffit, giving the cabinetry a seamless, built-in finish. We also reworked the plumbing under the sink to suit the new layout and installed a new sink and faucet.
The electrical work was a big part of this project. We added new lighting throughout, under-cabinet lighting along the counters, extra outlets at the backsplash, and pop-up outlets at the sink, table, and bar area, so power is right where it’s needed without cluttering the countertops.
Key upgrades included: Custom red oak cabinets with thoughtful features like a dedicated tea cabinet, a full-height speckled quartz backsplash that carries through to the bar area, all-new appliances including a Bosch dishwasher and Zephyr range hood, and durable luxury vinyl plank (LVP) flooring. The result is a kitchen that feels natural and inviting, with storage, lighting, and power planned around everyday life.
